(Jonesborough, Tenn.)— The 7th annual season of Storytelling Live! begins this week at the International Storytelling Center with nationally renowned storyteller, Bil Lepp. Lepp’s outrageous, humorous tall-tales and witty stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages and from all walks of life. From elementary school to veterans’ homes, from churches to colleges, from festivals to formal dinners, his hilarious, insightful stories always bring laughter. Though five-time champion of the West Virginia’s Liars’ Contest, his tales often contain morsels of truth which shed light on subjects such as politics, religion, death, relationships, and human nature. An award winning storyteller, author, and recording artist, Lepp’s release, “The Teacher in the Patriotic Bathing Suit,” has recently received the Parent’s Choice Award. Lepp has been featured at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and at major storytelling events across the country. Says Bil, “Everywhere I slept, I’ve lied.”
Bil will be telling stories daily June 3 – June 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults; $9 for seniors, students, and children under 18. Groups of 25 or more are also welcome to make a reservation for a reserved morning performance. The Center is open 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
