prepared to get dirty!
6:30 PM WASPS & HORNETS - Yes, they do sting if you bother them! But they
are really amazing creatures when you get to know them, from a safe
distance… Let’s get a close, stingless look at these common, important,
misunderstood park critters. Meet at the Open Air Chapel, or main bath
house if it is raining.
9:00 PM NIGHT HIKE TO WHITE TAIL LOOP TRAIL - It's a whole different
world out there at night! Tonight is our chance to explore this rich,
ancient forest, during the dark side of the day. Bring a flashlight and
drive to the camper check-in station. We'll carpool to the trail.
TUESDAY, JULY 1
9:30 AM HOLSTON BLUFFS RAILROAD TOUR - Our park is tied to history
through the rails! Let's hike the old railroad grade, and hear the stories
of these old railroaders' lives. Meet at the campground check-in station.

yourself lost in the wilderness. Meet at the Open Air Chapel, or the main
bath house if it is raining.
11:30 AM FLINT & STEEL - We all enjoy watching a pretty campfire. But the
early settlers needed fires to keep warm and to cook their meals. How did
they start their fires without matches or lighter fluid? Meet at the Open
Air Chapel, or pool entrance if it rains.
1:00 PM BIRD'S EYE VIEW - Take a hike to the Overlook and look at our world
from a different perspective. Don't forget your camera! Meet at the
camper check-in station.
3:00 PM BEACH SEARCH - The lakeshore is full of tiny beaches, with signs of
wildlife and clues to people who once traveled here. Each wave brings us
new discovery! Meet at the main bath house to begin our “treasure hunt.”
5:00 PM DON’T JUST TRASH IT - What can we do about our garbage problems
- today and in the future? Let’s discover some new solutions. After the
talk, see if you can create your own “trash monster"! Meet at the Open
Air Chapel, or main bath house if it is raining.
