ALL MY MURDERS

Attention all sleuths.

Experience “All My Murders” each Friday and Saturday from July 5-19 at the Proud Annie Mystery Theatre in Jonesborough.

Dine on a six-course country dinner. And between bites, help solve the murder of a soap opera star.

Directed by Kathleen Brosenne and set in a pre-Civil War 1857, “All My Murders” is not intended for children under age 13.

However, those with enquiring and investigative minds are encouraged to attend, attempt to solve and even participate. Some patrons will be pulled on stage and into the who-done-it drama. Who knows who’s guilty and who will be chosen … maybe it’s you.

DISILLUSIONED

Melody and mayhem come together in the sound of Disillusioned.

See the Johnson City-based, head-banging band on July 5 at the 5 O’clock Bar in Bristol, Tenn. Led by lead singer Doug Hale, the four-man outfit mixes sounds culled from such influences as Black Sabbath from the 1970s, Def Leppard from the ’80s, and Metallica from the ’90s.

Result? A nuanced group structured on brains to go with their blast. Disillusioned rocks to the riffs of lead guitarist Sherald Jennings, as heard on songs such as “Monster.”

Yet Disillusioned also cools their jets on songs like “Ever After.” They are not one-trick ponies but instead are four horsemen who attack with intelligence attached to their brawn.
