Legends of China gaining national attention

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Legends of China extravaganza at the Smoky Mountain Palace in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville is not only gaining in local attendance, but the show is also earning national recognition. The troupe was invited to perform at the West Point Military Academy last month, and there are possible overtures for a run on Broadway during the winter months.

Two entirely different shows are being presented at the Smoky Mountain Palace -- the Legends of China and the Hui Guang Shaolin Kung Fu Show.

The Hui Guang Shaolin Kung Fu Show will conclude its matinee run at the end of November and the actors will return to China. Some cast members were seen in the movies “The Matrix” and the Academy Award winning “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”

The Legends of China will perform its nightly shows until the end of December. The Christmas show began yesterday and will continue through Christmas. Preparations have already been made for a return beginning in either March or April. Time will be determined at the conclusion of the season.
