The cast has been announced for The Group Theatre Too’s upcoming Tennessee production of the family musical "Count to Ten."

This past October more than 100 area young people auditioned. The 25 local youths from the Tri-Cities area cast in the production that will be held at the Johnson City Community Theatre include Johnson City residents Elizabeth Baily, Jennifer Darden, Jake Jessup, Emmy Lanthorn, Hannah Miller, Briana Raione, Kelsey Snapp, Lacy Snapp, and Grace Spurrell, Kingsport residents Daryl Conrad, Nick Elkin, Corey Harkleroad, Nick Peace, Camielle Reed, Bristol residents Jordan Fritts, Grace Grunstra, Rachel Grunstra, Nena Kelly, and Keri Seneker, Gray residents Lily Brock and Zack Schaftlein, Elizabethton resident Annalee Tull, Jonesborough resident Mary Kate Lichtfeld, Bluff City resident Alexandra Eleas and Piney Flats resident Erika Turner. Also, East Tennessee native and area theatre veteran Matthew Clark will perform as the Producer. Andrew Blevins of Kingsport will provide percussion for the new musical.

The youthful area cast spent three days of training over the Thanksgiving holiday under the direction of Broadway, film and television actor/dancer and former East Tennessean Michael Blevins and New York musical director Christine Riley.

Riley’s credits include the national tour of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and the New York premiere of “Gemini: The Musical” based on Albert Innaurato’s Drama Desk Award-winning Broadway play. Area costume designer Karen Brewster, who has designed more than 50 productions for Barter Theatre and is also on the ETSU Theatre faculty, will lend costume and wardrobe support to the January production. Brad Davis, JCCT president, arranged for the company to rehearse at the theatre site as did Susan Pace, former owner of Holloway Dance School and current artistic director of the City Youth Ballet, provided additional dance studio space.

The original New York principal cast will join the area actors from Jan. 11 to 20. For ticket information and show schedule call Theater Mania toll-free at 1-866-811-4111 or visit www.CountToTenTheMusical.com.
