JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Creative Energy Group, Inc. has earned the coveted ‘Blue Ribbon Small Business Award’ from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The honor means the firm is one of only 75 small businesses within the United States to earn the designation.
The Blue Ribbon Small Business Award is designed to recognize businesses that demonstrate excellent business practices in several areas, including: business strategy, employee development, community involvement and customer service.
In announcing the award, Thomas Donohue, U.S. Chamber president said, “This year’s recipients of the award are proof that the American entrepreneurial spirit is as strong as ever. We are relying on small businesses to lead us out of this recession, create new jobs, and get our economy moving again, and these companies are leading the way.”
The Creative Energy Group was formed in 1992 and maintains offices in Johnson City, Tenn. and Asheville, NC. The firm is a full-service advertising, marketing, social media strategy and public relations firm. “I’m delighted for our company and our employees who are committed to excellence in communications for our clients and the commitment of our employees to serve the communities in which we live,” said Creative Energy president Tony Treadway.
Gary Mabrey, III, the president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Johnson City, Jonesborough and Washington County nominated the firm for the distinction. “There are 6,900 chambers of commerce in the U.S. who had the opportunity to submit a member for the award. This year’s winners were selected from a record number of nationwide applicants. Creative Energy’s global focus and commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates is proof positive of the value of small business to America.”
Creative Energy develops and implements communications strategies for clients within the food, energy, financial, textile and other industries to a global and local list of trusted clients. “This award is about more than recognizing financially successful businesses,” said Donohue. “It’s about honoring those that show a commitment to their employees, sound business practices and bettering their communities. These companies have made their commitments, and the Chamber is proud to recognize their contributions.”
Creative Energy will be honored at America’s Small Business Summit 2010, May 17 - 19 in Washington, D.C. Officials of the local chamber of commerce will also attend the Summit, let by chairman Robert White. On March 15th, seven of the Blue Ribbon Businesses will be announced as award finalists, and one will be named the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year during the summit.
