Toyota has donated $1 million and three Prius Hybrid vehicles to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The donation is the largest single gift ever made to the country's most-visited national park. It will fund environmental and cultural education programs for students and families.

Officials of the national park and Toyota hope the programs will help children form a better connection with the outdoors and encourage them to think about careers in science.

The donation was one of five made by Toyota to various national parks in honor of the carmaker's 50th anniversary in the U.S.
